Holašovice village

In the middle of the village, you can find a small pond, around which there are houses with painted Baroque gables. They form a village square in the shape of rectangle (210 x 70 metres). Out of the 120 buildings, there are 22 buildings which are protected. These buildings were rebuilt in the 19th century in a style which is called the South Bohemian folk Baroque style. The reconstruction concerned the gables. The houses usually consisted of a main building and an entrance hall. Then there was a cowshed. In the opposite part of the yard there was a peasant’s pension building where landlord’s parents lived. And of course there were some outbuildings, a garden and a barn.
